Many people come to me when they suddenly have a big problem, and others when a chronic problem gets worse. I’m happy to help.
Other people get regular care with me every week, every month, sometimes every other month.
- R. has been coming to see me every two to three weeks since she was 21. She’s 39 now. She has a leg length discrepancy and scoliosis, and if she goes too long without getting realigned and having her muscles released, she’s neither mobile nor happy.
One benefit of having a schedule is that you don’t have to think, “I need an appointment,” only to realize another week’s gone by without making it or having a problem get to the emergency point and then trying to fit an appointment into your schedule or mine.
But the most important benefit is that you are managing your health. If you have a car, I hope that your approach to maintenance isn’t waiting for the engine light to come on. In this respect, you’re not all that different from your car.
- D. takes ballet several times a week. She’s now in her 60s. Regular coaching and adjustments allow her to keep up regular study without a glitch.
Beyond musculoskeletal care – which may be how you think about my work – are more complex and comprehensive forms of care. People use words like neurological, spiritual, psychological, and energetic to describe that deeper level. P. will be here this afternoon because he finds that if he gets bodywork while he talks about his life, he avoids getting distracted – bogged down by anxiety and circular thinking – and he can think clearly through the things that matter most.
As a living being, you’re managing your body, spirit, mind, and energy all the time, as evidenced by the fact that you’re still alive and doing what you need and want to do. Professional care can help you identify and fill gaps in your management strategy. And it helps you stay the course when the going gets tough. As you may have noticed, things are tough all over.
Everybody’s different:
- J., who came on Monday, needed posture coaching, stretching, and exercise.
U. was here last week. She suffers from migraines and TMJ. Very light force “energy work” helps her manage and sometimes prevent a headache, and it has never exacerbated her symptoms like some forms of care have. She doesn’t wait until she has a migraine to come in, but when they do, she gets here as soon as she can manage it. - M. is finally learning to dance after a lifetime of wanting to, and they come to learn to move freely and musically.
My goal is to help you get into your best state of flow, so you can do the things that are important to you and to help you respond to the undeniably immense stresses of this moment without freaking or freezing.
